IL CAMBIAMENTO CLIMATICO È DIVENUTA UNA FEBBRE AL RIALZO
Il cambiamento climatico è divenuto un business proficuo, tanto da influenzare moltissimi ambiti economici, finanziari e speculativi. Nel settore degli investimenti è scoppiata la febbre del green.
Come i grafici della borsa, il mercurio si impenna e precipita stimolato dai cambiamenti improvvisi di temperatura.
Climate Change Fever è una collezione di opere dell’artista ANDREA PAPI che riflette sulle ripercussioni del cambiamento climatico sul mercato e sulla cultura.
La prima opera consiste in undici termometri clinici a mercurio disposti in sequenza il cui sensore per il rilevamento della temperatura è stimolato da luci a forte emissione di calore in grado di far spostare il mercurio contenuto all’interno. Controllando le luci e la temperatura ambientale si crea una coreografia di innalzamenti e abbassamenti della colonna di mercurio dando un senso ai cambiamenti climatici.

Climate change has become a profitable business, so much so that it influences many economic, financial and speculative fields. Green fever has broken out in the investment sector.
Like stock market charts, mercury rises and falls stimulated by sudden changes in temperature.
Climate Change Fever is a collection of works by artist ANDREA PAPI that reflects on the repercussions of climate change on the market and culture.
The first work consists of eleven mercury clinical thermometers arranged in sequence whose sensor for detecting the temperature is stimulated by lights with strong heat emission capable of moving the mercury contained inside. By controlling the lights and the ambient temperature, a choreography of rises and falls in the mercury column is created, giving meaning to climate change.
La seconda opera consiste in un termometro clinico a mercurio piegato in un angolo di 37° in corrispondenza dell’omonimo indice di temperatura. In matematica il simbolo del grado è adoperato per indicare l'ampiezza di un angolo, nelle scienze naturali il grado indica i valori di temperatura; in quest’opera il simbolo indica entrambi i valori simultaneamente. L’opera riflette sul valore ambivalente dei cambiamenti climatici ove visti come un grave problema e allo stesso tempo altrove come una grande opportunità di profitto.

The second work consists of a clinical mercury thermometer bent at an angle of 37° corresponding to the temperature index of the same name. In mathematics the degree symbol is used to indicate the width of an angle, in natural sciences the degree indicates temperature values; in this work the symbol indicates both values simultaneously. The work reflects on the ambivalent value of climate change where seen as a serious problem and at the same time elsewhere as a great opportunity for profit.
